Tim, where are you from?
I was born in Chicago.

How long have you lived in San Diego?
I moved to Carlsbad with my family in 1978, grew up there and now live there with my wife Jennifer, our 2 children and our dog – Mimi.

How do you like living here in San Diego?
I have been really lucky in my job to get to travel to many places in the United States and some internationally. There are some really beautiful places to visit IF you catch them on the right day. San Diego is the RIGHT day nearly everyday. There is no place that I'd rather live.

How long have you been with SOE?
I started at SOE at the end of April of this year. I spent the previous seven years working at Midway and prior to that I was at 989 Studios.

What are your responsibilities?
Along with Matt Penfield and Tony Royce, we are responsible for the Brand Marketing for EQoA, EQ, EQII, Pirates of the Burning Sea and The Agency. We are pretty busy these days and loving it.

Did you intend to find a job in the gaming industry?
I love the gaming industry. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry but at the end of the day you are making games for a living. What could be better? To quote Nick Beliaeff, "I'm living the dream."

Are you a gamer? If yes, which games do you play?
Yes I do play games. I'm playing the Pirates of the Burning Sea Beta right now but I also play EQII, LoTRO and CounterStrike. On the console side I play Guitar Hero with my son, DDR with my daughter and various shooters and sports games, mostly Tiger and Madden.

You just recently went to Germany for Leipzig. How did you like that game convention? Is there a huge difference to American game conventions?
The GC was awesome; it was an amazing show. I could not believe how many people attended. When we had the chance to get out of the Business Center we were weaving our way through the masses to look at the cool titles on the public floor. It was a bit scary trying to walk through the convention halls. The air was electric though, a really cool vibe. The show was very similar to E3 but with 5 times as many people checking out the games.

What was your most favorable memory of your trip to Germany?
The history and the beauty of the country was striking. We stayed in Merseburg and there is a church there that dates back to 1015. The dark beer was amazing too. ;-)

Can German players expect to see SOE having a booth there next year, accessible to the public?
The presence that SOE has at Leipzig is determined by the games that we are releasing in Europe that year. That obviously changes from year-to-year. I cannot make any promises but the discussion at this point is about SOE having a booth in the public area for consumers to enjoy our games next year. Look for more news about that next Summer as we get closer to next year's event.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Other than playing games, I love to spend time with my family. Going to the beach and taking the kids out on their boogie-boards was a blast this summer. I love sports and watching my kids playing soccer or baseball or basketball is another one of my favorite pastimes.
