Congratulations to the Winners of the Pumpkin Carving Challenge

We want to thank everyone who entered the SOE Pumpkin Carving Challenge for participating and submitting your pictures. We had such a great turn out, and because Shingo (our Spanish Language Community Rep) is so generous, we have decided to declare every entry a winner. Congrats amigos/as!!

"This took about 4 hours to carve and I felt like I messed it up sooooo many times. I came close to throwing it off my porch. Glad I didn't because it turned out really good in the end."

Behold fine folk of Telon,

Here bygynneth the Tales of the Pumpkin . . .

The quest they embarked on was to acquire a beautiful big pumpkin after the festivities of Halloween had passed. The whole family of high elves swarmed out, looking for a worthy pumpkin. Suavitas, the cleric of Gloriann, was the first to spot the precious vegetable from a vendor in the weekly marketplace. Alas, when she lifted the pumpkin to gauge its weight, she realized that her strength would not suffice to carry the pumpkin very far.

So Suavitas left the marketplace to meet up with her husband, the sorceror Justaraan, in hope his arcane powers could lift the pumpkin and transport it to their home in The Deebs. In the meanwhile, Justaraan had located an even bigger pumpkin, being sold from a vegetable vendor from a far away country. The merchant drove a hard bargain but finally the highly sought after fruit was purchased. Suavitas cheered as Justaraan lifted the 55 lbs pumpkin in the air and placed it on his shoulders. His robes got all dirty from the remaining sand on the fruit, but Justaraan carried on. Sweat began to run down his face, despite the cool autumn air. Suavitas admired her husband, who carried the pumpkin over a mile without complaint. His muscles tensed, sweat on his temples, "he should be awarded the title of 'sexy sorc'", Suavitas thought.

After the couple reached their home, Suavitas started to mark the mysterious elaborate pattern on the pumpkin. Justaraan cut open the top and his father helped cleaning the pumpkin's interior. Once the pattern was finished, Justaraan sent everybody out of the room, to concentrate on carefully cutting out the runes Suavitas had prepared. When his arcane work was done, he called the family in to marvel at the enchanted fruit. The interior of the pumpkin started to emit a magic light and the runes began to glow, illuminating the room that had fallen into the darkness of the night.

The light irradiating from the magic pumpkin formed a single word - the name of a Saga of Heroes, a legend unmatched by other stories told to audiences hungry for entertainment: VANGUARD.
