There are a ton of decorating options available in EverQuest II. With those options come endless ways to use them to create amazing homes in-game. We are blessed with many creative and innovative players in our community! This week: Olaana's home at 4 Freedom Road, South Freeport on the Everfrost server.

What was your inspiration for this home?

To use up all the tons of house items I had accumulated! lol

What are your favourite materials to work with in-game to create certain effects (waterfalls, stairs, grottos, aquariums, etc)?

The sathirian sarcophagi are wonderful for kitchen counters, and just general building blocks. I like the crude stone benches and the regular stone benches for grottos, waterfalls and gardens. Also, the wantia armoires are great for cabinets in both kitchens and bathrooms.

How long did this home take to decorate?

About 3 days.

Did you plan it with a certain story in mind, or did it just grow out of what you had on hand or what your character would want in their home?

I wanted a large kitchen, since I love to cook in real life, and Olaana is a reflection of me. I also wanted a gazebo in the garden area. The rest just sort of developed as I went along.

How many items did you end up using and was it hard to keep within the limits?

lol! I used so many that I had to buy the expander so I could use more!

What decorating tips do you have for your fellow decorators (vetern or newbies)?

Don't be afraid to try things. It's easier than you think and lots of fun. Experiment and have fun!

What one thing would you like to be able to build in-game if you could have all the materials you wanted and item limits weren't a constraint?

A guest book for the house would be nice, one that automatically logs whoever comes in/out of my house, just so I know who has been there. I would also love to be able to put things wherever I want, whether it's a rug on the wall or a chandelier on the floor. I would like to be able to build an upside-down house (remember the old Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books? lol) Just more freedom with the existing items would be nice.

If you change your decorations seasonally, what is your favourite time of year for decorations?

Night of the Dead! Followed closely by Frostfell, there are just too many cool things for both of those.

Who was involved in the decorating for your home, if you had help?

It was a solo effort. :)
