There are a ton of decorating options available in EverQuest II. With those options come endless ways to use them to create amazing homes in-game. We are blessed with many creative and innovative players in our community! This week: Synlily's home at 3 Walk of the Dead in Neriak on the Guk server.

All of my houses are on the Guk Server with House Dominaytu nestled comfortably at Number 3, Walk of the Dead in the upscale neighborhood of Death Grotto in beautiful Neriak. Owned by the enterprising Synlily Dominaytu, this large home is in fact residence to a clan of industrious Arasai who like nothing better than to clutter the place up to the rafters with their ill gotten gains. This home features a chapel to Synlily's deity as well as an basement "playroom". There are plans to eventually add an underground grotto in the new room.

While you are in Neriak, Guk, please feel free to stop by Number 8 Indigo Road and pay a visit to Steelraven's Evening Park and Feya's Sunrise Pavilion. Both of these were designed as one room follies when 100 items was the room cap. I believe you might find both interesting, whether you prefer a midnight stroll in the garden or the contemplation of a quiet morning.

Aeryss' Acorn is Located at the far residential aerie, Aerie Kolmas in Kelethin. This large house has been subdivided from the original 6 rooms to 10 and boasts and upstairs sitting room, pocket office and a downstairs spa. Like the house Dominaytu the owner is planning on a future addition to the existing house in the recently added space.

What was your inspiration for this home?
My inspiration for decorating comes from the characters themselves, what I feel that they would want surrounding them in their personal space. The Arasai being a bit eccentric with a decided bent towards somewhat overstated opulence are a contrast to Aeryss the Fae who prefers a woodsier, more homey approach to her living space.
What are your favourite materials to work with in-game to create certain effects (waterfalls, stairs, grottos, aquariums, etc)?
I really enjoy working with the stone based items in the game, plants and water features in order to bring a bit of the outside inside and use the heck out of those low level stone tables in Aeryss' basement.

How long did this home take?
Both large houses were started at the same time and while they have undergone repeated transitions to reach their present state both were essentially completed within a month's time.

How many items did you end up using and was it hard to keep within the limits?
All of my houses were crammed to capacity and yes I did bemoan the fact that I had run out of space in them ...until the new rooms were added. Now I'm collecting items for further decorating so I can see how much I can pack into them again. Some items may not be readily apparent when you walk around...a lot of lights are tucked away and hidden to give ambiance to certain areas.

What decorating tips do you have for your fellow decorators (vetern or newbies)?
Decorating tips..don't be afraid to use anything and everything, pile stuff together, play with your resizing a lot and don't push everything up against the walls. If your home mummy insists on dragging himself around your living room on his face...give him something to bump his head into.
What one thing would you like to be able to build in-game if you could have all the materials you wanted and item limits weren't a constraint?
If item limits were not an issue I would probably build a multilevel forest complete with waterfall, stream and lake, with maybe a house or two tucked away in a hidden glade.. I like the woods.
If you change your decorations seasonally, what is your favourite time of year for decorations?
Halloween and Christmas are my two favorite decoration themes although at this time all those decorations are neatly packed up and out of sight.
Who was involved in the decorating for your home/guildhall, if you had help?
I do all of my own decorations having brought the mania...err hobby with me from Star Wars Galaxies where my character supported herself decorating houses and guild halls...I sorely miss my big fish tank with the burning dragon skull on top.
