Challenge: To celebrate summer, we are holding SOE Staycation “Geeks of Summer” Forum Challenge. Every SOE game player can submit their best summer-themed screenshot to get a chance at receiving rewards.

Your submission must include at least three of the following items as well as character(s) from your game. It doesn't have to be your character but can be either NPCs or PCs.

    Duration: Submissions for this forum challenge will be accepted until Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10:00 am PDT. (PDT is -7 hours GMT: 11:00 am MDT, 12:00 pm CDT, 1:00 pm EDT, 5:00 pm GMT)

    Rules: Please follow the rules below:

    1. When submitting your images, the following information is required:

      • Image Link or Embed:
      • Title: (what you call it)
      • Character Name:
      • Server:

    2. Images can be uploaded to the SOE "Geeks of Summer" 2009 Flickr Group and linked in this thread. If you are unable to upload to Flickr you can upload else where and link it here.

    3. Submissions must be in JPG or PNG format and must be No bigger than 800 pixels in width x 600 pixels in height, no exceptions. (800x600)

    4. Please review the Terms of Service Agreement before participating in this challenge in regards to appropriate entries.  Also, within the Terms of Service Agreement, it states that by submitting (e.g., uploading or transmitting) Content to an SOE Communication Feature, you automatically grant SOE the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed. In addition, you warrant that any and all so-called "moral rights" in the Content have been waived.

    5. Images submitted must be in the form live photography (real life pictures), game screenshot or modified game screenshot without copyrighted materials included, and/or original artwork. Do not submit any images that are copyrighted or those that belong to someone else.

    6. Community members are permitted to submit one screenshot for each game per account. You cannot submit two entries for one game. (Example: you cannot submit two screenshots for EQ)

    7. Community members are permitted to submit an updated screenshot throughout the submission period as you wish. The last version submitted will be used.

    8. Character names and NPC names should be turned off for the image. Do not include any text in the image.

    9. Editing of the image is permitted but the image must be your image.

    Rewards: After reviewing all the submissions, three winners will be selected from each game. The winners will then receive the following rewards:

    • Recognition: Each winner will be highlighted on the soe web network.
    • In-game Reward: Each winner will receive an in-game reward based on their game:
      • EQ – In-game Title

      • EQII – In-game Title

      • SWG – In-game Badge

      • Vanguard – In-game Title

      • PlanetSide – In-game Merit

      • EQOA – In-game Item

      • TCGs – Forum Title

    • Note: The in-game rewards have been pre-determined.
