On behalf of the entire EverQuest II team, I want to thank everyone who has participated in our beta test over the last several months on the English, French, and German-language servers. Your feedback has been immeasurably valuable throughout the testing process by helping us find bugs and polish our gameplay. EverQuest II wouldn't be what it is today without your involvement.

We're very excited that EverQuest II will be launching on November 8. In preparation for the release of the game, our beta test will be concluding Saturday, November 6. At noon PST, we will be shutting down the beta servers and deleting all characters and items. Our official forums will be temporarily closing at the same time so that we can restructure the boards and be ready for a fresh start when the game goes live.

EverQuest II will begin shipping to retailers in the US on Monday, November 8, with dozens of servers awaiting the arrival of thousands of players into a brand new world. The European versions of EverQuest II will begin shipping across Europe on November 11, with French and German-language servers ready for play. At launch, all our subscribers will have access to the core features of our new Station Players website which allows you to track the progress of your characters, build a guild website and message board, and interact with other members of the EverQuest II community.

We hope you enjoy your last hours in the EverQuest II beta. Though the testing process has come to an end, your adventure in Norrath has only just begun.

Starter Kit Owners:

If you received a Starter Kit by preordering and have not yet gone through the process of redeeming your code for the journeyman boots, please hold off doing so until you have registered your key for the retail version of the game.

Those of you who have already redeemed your codes are fine and can claim the boots normally. We're posting this because there could be an issue if someone were to redeem the code between the time the beta servers are brought down and the live ones come up. You'll be fine if you follow the steps in this order:

  • Install the retail version of the game
  • Register the EverQuest II account key included in the box
  • Redeem the code for the journeyman boots found in the Starter Kit
Again, there is no need for anyone who has already redeemed their code to worry; your account is flagged properly. This is simply a preventative measure to ensure that nobody has a problem going forward.

An important reminder for those who participated in the beta test:

Before installing the retail version of EverQuest II, please be sure to completely uninstall the beta client from your system. Failing to do so may result in file conflicts and other issues that could interfere with running the game properly.

Note: If you have saved any facial customization files, move the \saved_customizations\ folder to a temporary location (such as your desktop) before uninstalling the beta client. After you install the retail version, move the customizations folder into the EverQuest II directory.

Please follow the steps below to completely uninstall the EverQuest II beta:

1. From the Start menu, go into your Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs, and select EverQuest II Beta. Choose the Remove option.
2. Open Windows Explorer (Start menu, Programs, Accessories) and locate the directory where you installed the EverQuest II beta (the default is C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II Beta). Carefully select the entire beta directory and press the Delete key to begin deleting files. You will receive a warning message asking if you really want to delete the beta directory; confirm that you do. When asked if you want to delete .exe files, click the "Yes to All" button.
