With the introduction of an in-game web browser to EQII, filing '/petitions' from within the game client not only became possible, it became convenient. Accessing the petition system no longer required a person to go outside of the game to take care of their petitions.

While the petition system will email updates about the state of a petition to the submitter, sometimes a person would like to check the status of their petition without waiting for the email. Fortunately, there is a way within the game client to not only check the status of your active petition, but also to update it and review prior petitions.

Just as the in-game web browser removed some of the tedious work related to filing petitions; the in-game browser provides a solution to checking on the status of your petitions - without having to leave the game!

Accessing the Knowledge Base

The command to file and check on the status of petitions is the same, you merely need to type '/petition' at the command prompt in EQII. This will automatically launch the in-game browser and pull up the Knowledge Base window for customer support. This window is the basic entry point to the answers of a great many questions, including the status of your existing petition.

The Service History Page

To jump from the general Knowledge Base to a page more specific to your prior petitions, you need to click the tab at the top of the Knowledge Base that reads "Service History"


The Service History Page shows the most recent announcements from Customer Support, and also includes links to 'Questions' and 'Answer Update Notifications' pages. In order to check the status of your existing petitions, click on the 'Questions' link.

Getting Updates from the Questions Page

The Questions Page provides quick links to important information from Customer Support that affects all users, as well as a full detail of your prior petition tickets.


Your existing petitions are listed in date order from the oldest tickets first. You can skim your open and closed tickets on this page, and click on any one of them to read more details. On the details page you will be able to review what you have submitted, as well as any Customer Support messages in response to your petition. Further, you can update the petition to add more details to an existing petition should you have more information to share.

Using the in-game browser to check on the status of your petitions provides an easy way to not only check up on your petition, but also to add more information to it should you have something extra to share. Being able to check in on this data without leaving the game minimizes the down time created by the need to check in on a petition and ensures that the answers are just a '/browser' away!
