It has been some time since the Town Crier last filed report. Weary are his legs, as the road he has traveled was long. In chasing after reports of "Neriak" and "Kunark" the Town Crier has crossed many lands both new and unfamiliar. His report comes at the cost of time, but provides great detail on many new tidings!

Whispers of Neriak

With the new race and starting city coming to the Test servers fast on the heels of Game Update 34, the words "Neriak" and "Arasai" are finding themselves well worn across the known lands. Many have already investigated these wonders that will head to all live servers later this month, and their reports are well detailed for those of you who chose not to explore on Test.

Those who wield the Ten Ton Hammer speak well of the Rebirth of Neriak and cover the new city in detail. Coyote Sharptongue also contributed a funny story about one Ogre's search for evil Fae.

The paired efforts of the IGN team and Vault Network resulted in a report about the Neriak Attack as well as a movie created by Zilreed that explores Neriak and demonstrates the wonders you can see there.

Exploring yet another medium, our friends at EQ2-Daily have peppered their latest podcast, "Knowing your Darklight Wood" with discussion about Neriak, and many other related EQII topics.

Even the dwarves like the new city! Enough for the Brasse to host a comic about it!

Rise of Kunark

What could possibly trump news of a game update loaded with a new city, race, and content? The Town Crier discovered that a new expansion announcement could quickly fill people's minds with wonders even though they promise to be hidden for quite some time.

The folks over at EQII Allakhazam were the first to make note of the announcement, and packed their news about it with an audio interview of Scott Hartsman. Many great details were shared in relation to the discovery that Kunark would be the next expansion.

Stepping in to voice the thoughts of many who will try this expansion, Ten Ton Hammer has an article discussing the hopes for Rise of Kunark. They also have a few images of concept art (complete with names of the critters shown).

The Brasse shared her insight on the decision process that selected the Sarnak as the new race that will come with the expansion, proving her skill at humor as well as her logic in knowing why others were not chosen.

Even the GameSpy got in on the action, sharing this preview of Rise of Kunark.

Beyond the Headlines

The Crier found news beyond Neriak and Kunark as well. There were many things to be learned in recent times, and he has shared this run down of them with us.

Gamers Day was the event that made public the plans for Rise of Kunark, and our friends at Ten Ton Hammer shared their thoughts in this article.

WarCry also shared two reports on different aspects of the Gamers Day events. Noting that the business at SOE has gone global, and giving a forward look at EQII based on all this new information.

The Ten Ton Hammer was not finished though. They also shared this great guide for Wizards as well as a detail on how to Kill Mayong.

If you find yourself a wizard, and facing Mayong, you have great need to read both!

WarCry also gave the Crier a report about an EQII player who found her way to millions, and the people she shared them with. This saddened the Crier just a little, as he thought we were all his friends, yet no winnings were sent his way. (Just kidding, congratulations you guys!)

Have you checked out EQ2Craft lately? The Town Crier has, and he wants us all to remember that their data is only as strong as our participation. Even if you dabble in the recipes, there is a chance that you may have something they are missing. Check it out.

In other great news, Black's EQ2 Links page has been updated recently. The page holds the path to a great number of websites related to our game, you may find one or two you never knew of.

Hailing from the land of the blogs, the Trot Line blogs about the increase in character slots and about the character transfers.

The Ancient Gaming Noob also weighs in on all the good things happening in the EQII community. He also has some sad news for one of the Arasai character model applicants; it's been rejected.

Lastly, the Town Crier would like to welcome the Blah Frag Gank Nerf Soon blog into the ranks of sites he has traveled. Be sure to check out the new blog and encourage BFGNS for more updates!

With a weary head the Town Crier now heads back to some well earned sleep. That tankard of ale will have to wait for the morning. Chat about his report in the official forums.
