Personas will allow you to level and play alternate class 'personas' on the same character. This enables leveling from adventure level 1 to max on each class while still playing the same character, having access to the same equipment, and credit for completing the same quests and achievements.

Q: What are Personas? 
A: Personas is a feature that allows an individual character to be multiple adventure classes. 

Q: What character information is unique to a Persona? 
A: Details

  • Class Level and Experience

  • Class Specific Spells / Abilities 
  • Hotbars / Macros 
  • Equipment Sets / Appearance Sets 

Q: How do you add a Persona to a character? 
A: Click the "Add Persona" button on the character pane at character select. 

Note: Every character must log in once after the Persona feature is applied to a server to undergo a "conversion" process.  The "Add Persona" button will be greyed out with a tooltip stating this if applicable. 

  • Requires the Persona feature being active on the server and the account having the Persona feature 
  • Requires an available Account Persona Slot (shown at character select) 

Q: How do Persona slots work? 
A: Every character can create one Persona if you own the Persona feature. Additionally, you can create an additional Persona on one character of your choosing for each slot you obtain. 

Persona Slots are incremented when: 

  • Purchasing an additional Persona Slot through DBC or consuming an Additional Persona Slot consumable. 
    • You can see how many available Persona Slots you have on the character pane at character select. 
  • Deleting a character that has Personas 

Persona Slots are decremented when: 

  • Adding a Persona to a character 
  • Restoring a deleted character that had Personas 

Q: What Personas can be added to a character? 
A: Any adventure class that is available (not restricted) on the character's associated server can be added. Note you may not have multiple Personas with the same class on the same character. 

Q: How do you change Personas? 
A: On the character pane at character select, you can choose an available class in the dropdown underneath the character's name. 

  • In-game, you can open the character UI and click the "Personas" tab, then click a Persona and then click the "Switch Persona" button. 
    • This will initiate a camping process that will switch you to the selected class. 

Q: What Happens to equipped items when switching Personas? 
A: When you log in a character, after switching classes, a verification process is run on the character to make sure what they have equipped is still valid. Any invalid equipment found will be placed into your character's inventory (or overflow if your inventory is full).  This does not affect items equipped appearance items. 

Q: How does Spell Research work with Personas? (for servers with spell research)
A: A character can only research one spell at a time.  When logged into a class not associated with the research, you can view current progress and change the current research, but only the researching class can claim the research once finished. 

Q: What changed with the Camp Command? 
A: Added ability to camp to a specific class. 

  • /camp <character_name> <class> 
    • Ex: /camp John Shadowknight 

Q: What changed with User Interface Settings Files? 
A: User Interface settings files will now save out based on the character and class. 

  • Old: <server>_<character_name>_eq2_uisettings.xml 
  • New: <server>_<character_name>_<class>_eq2_uisettings.xml 

When prompted to load UI Settings or using the "load_uisettings" command you will see the <character_name>_<class> in the list where applicable so you know exactly which settings file is being loaded.

Q: How do Heroic Characters work with Personas? (for servers with heroic characters)
A: Individual Personas are now Heroic and not the character itself.  You can tell if a Persona is Heroic on the character pane at character select. 

  • The Heroic update button at character select has been moved the character pane. 
  • When using the Heroic update button at character create it will apply to the currently selected class. 
  • When using an in-game bauble to become Heroic, it will apply to the class you are currently logged in as. 
  • Note: Trial Heroic characters are unable to add Personas. 

Q: How do Persona slots work with deleting or restoring characters?
A: When deleting a character that had one or more Persona Slots used on them, those slots will return to the account. 

  • When restoring a deleted character that has Personas, you will be notified of how many Persona Slots are required (and will be decremented) to restore the character. 

Q: How do Personas affect character server transfers? 
A: Personas have no effect on character server transfers; they will function the same as before. 

Q: How do Personas affect character Account-to-Account Transfers? 
A: If transferring a character that does not have a Persona added to it, transfers will work same as before. 

  • If transferring a character that has a Persona, the destination account must have the Personas Feature. 
  • Note: No Persona Slots are refunded with this process to the source account they transfer with the character. 

Q: How do tradeskill classes work with Personas? 
A: Tradeskill classes are unchanged and do not interact with the Persona feature.
